Yes, the news is correct! The Employees‘ Provident Fund Organisation’s website will be temporarily unavailable for three days from June 26-28, 2026, due to a scheduled system migration. The retirement body has intimated its over 290 million subscribers through a pop-up alert on the portal. It is titled - Important Notice: Scheduled System Migration and Temporary Service Unavailability. Check the image below for confirmation.

This critical update from the EPFO is about consolidating databases in a planned manner and upgrading software applications for the claims processing system, the notice stated. The notice added that the system migration will happen to ensure enhanced service delivery, improved processing efficiency and a superior user experience.
The transition process will disable claim submission and processing through the EPFO portal from 00:00 hours (midnight) on June 26, 2026, to 23:59 hours on June 28, 2026.
The processing of claims submitted before the migration period will resume after the scheduled portal downtime.
According to the notification, the EPFO expects that the services will be restored fully by 00:00 hours (midnight) on June 29, 2026. While the EPFO is quick to issue an apology for the temporary inconvenience to be faced by users, it notifies that the upgrade is meant for faster, more reliable and more secure services. For any assistance, the retirement body shared a call centre number (14470) for its subscribers.
Even during the software upgrade period, EPFO subscribers can check their provident fund balance, passbook of several EPF accounts or track their application status through WhatsApp, missed call, SMS or the UMANG app.
While the three-day shutdown of EPFO's online services from June 26 to June 28, 2026, may temporarily disrupt claim submissions and processing, subscribers need not panic. The planned system migration is aimed at modernizing EPFO's infrastructure, improving processing efficiency, and delivering faster, more reliable services in the future. Claims submitted before the maintenance window will be processed once the upgraded system is operational, and full services are expected to resume on June 29, 2026.
Importantly, subscribers will continue to have access to essential information during the downtime through alternative channels such as the UMANG app, WhatsApp, SMS, and the missed-call facility. These options ensure that members can still track their EPF accounts and stay informed about their provident fund status.
As one of India's largest social security organizations, EPFO plays a crucial role in safeguarding the financial future of millions of employees. By helping workers build retirement savings, providing pension benefits, and offering financial support during key life events, EPFO serves as a vital pillar of long-term financial security. While temporary service interruptions may cause inconvenience, the ongoing modernization efforts reflect the organization's commitment to delivering better and more secure services for its over 290 million subscribers in the years ahead.

FCA warns Swift TradeX in a notice first published and updated on 1 September 2026. The UK Financial Conduct Authority says the firm may be providing or promoting financial services without permission, is not authorised, and may be targeting people in the UK. The notice names the website swifttradexai.com, a Worcester address and a UK telephone number, but also cautions that unauthorised businesses may use incorrect or borrowed contact details. The confirmed issue is authorisation status—not a court finding about every transaction. Anyone considering a payment should stop, verify the firm independently, and avoid using contact information supplied by the platform itself.
